I Wasn't There

A thousand curses passed me by since I dropped out of the sky.
A stranger to the five senses, my mind is always some place else.
Don't ask me, I don't know 'cause I wasn't there.
I wasn't there. I wasn't there.

When they were dishing out the blame, I didn't recognize my name.
And, if you're asking who or why, I've got the perfect alibi.
Don't ask me, I don't know 'cause I wasn't there.
I wasn't there.

I wasn't there at the time and, though it seems like a crime,
The only wrong I did was let my day dreams wander.
Not guilty sir, no way and nowhere.
The chance was mine to take and it was mine to squander.

Arrows bouncing off your head, leave no footprints where you tread.
They can't touch you with sword or spear when you are not even here.

Don't ask me, I don't know 'cause I wasn't there.
I wasn't there. I wasn't there.
